60+ Ride uses an online program called “Ride Scheduler,” which allows our registered volunteers to sign up for rides according to their own schedules. Some volunteers offer multiple rides every week, while others might do so twice a month. The bottom line is that the rides you provide help individuals age 60 and older maintain their quality of life and independence!
Our volunteer coordinator provides our volunteers with valuable training and support. She will help you sign up as a volunteer driver and take care of the necessary paperwork. Once you’re registered, she will train you to use the Ride Scheduler program, which is a simple to use software.
Volunteers are also invited to attend training meetings each fall and spring to get to know others involved in our project while learning more about serving the aging population. 60+ Ride runs thorough background and DMV checks on all prospective volunteers to ensure the safety of our clients.
Supporting aging adults so they are able to remain independent is perhaps one of the most rewarding volunteer activities you may ever engage in. Most of our volunteers agree that the joy of building relationships with the individuals they serve is the greatest reward.
We are grateful for funding from the Weld County Area Agency on Aging, grants, and Weld County businesses and individuals, which allows us to fund a full-time executive director and maintain full-time and part-time office positions including a volunteer coordinator, administrative assistant, office assistant/client Intake coordinator, and Greeley-Evans area minivan drivers.
