The Volunteer Spotlight – June 2017

Senior Resource Services is now using an online ride scheduling program, meaning that we no longer need volunteers to complete their Activity Logs because the system tracks that information automatically. Volunteers who are using the system to self-assign are able to add additional stops and adjust mileage and volunteer hours on-line. For those volunteers not using the on-line system we have calculated averages for volunteer trips.

Each month we draw the name of a volunteer who assisted seniors during that month. The monthly winners of the drawing are listed below:

Carol Marston won a cookie sheet for driving our clients in March. She is one of our newer volunteers who has been helping since January. Carol is an amazing volunteer, transporting clients to their appointments every week. How lucky we are that Carol gives her extra time to seniors through SRS!

The April winner was Shirley Landwehr who lives in southern Weld County, driving our clients in Dacono, Frederick, Firestone and Longmont. Shirley has been a volunteer with SRS since October of 2013 and was instrumental in getting our SRS services set up for seniors in the Carbon Valley area. Shirley received a Starbucks gift card for transporting seniors in April.
